The Valencian actress Rebeca Artal-Dato was awarded last Tuesday at the awards gala of the Association of Professional Actors and Actresses of Valencia (AAPV), where she received recognition for Best Female Performance in Theater for her leading role in the musical “BUH!”, produced by Teatre de l’Abast and LA FAM produccions.
In her speech, Rebeca recalled the importance of continuing to play in life, and concluded her emotional speech with a phrase from the play “BUH!”, for which she was awarded the prize: “That out of fear, do not take a step back”.
The musical “BUH!”, which has been nominated for the MAX Awards 2023 in the category of Best Musical or Lyric Show continues its tour and is performed in both Valencian and Spanish, captivating the audience with its innovative proposal.
This award represents a milestone in Rebeca Artal-Dato’s career, as it is the first time in the history of the AAPV awards that an actress is nominated and awarded for her participation in a family and musical show.
However, it is not the first time that Teatre de l’Abast is full of joy. This musical also obtained a nomination for the AAPV Awards 2022 in the category of new actress for Estela Domínguez, actress of “BUH!”; and in the AAPV Awards 2020, the actor Ramón Rodenas made history by winning the award for Best Male Performance in Theater in a show without text, something that had not happened to date, thanks to his performance in “ROB” by Teatre de l’Abast and Zero en Conducta.
